Prompting Form

Prompting for the [community profile] hp_friendship fest will start this Sunday. While the prompting post will stay open for a fortnight, which should give you ample opportunity to leave up to five prompts (if you like), we thought that we post the prompting form today. For those of you who like to plan in advance. And for those who are too excited to wait any longer (that would be your mods).

Without further ado, here we go:

Name: Your LJ/DW username or your pen name. (Prompting will be anonymous, but we'll reveal your identity to the person who claims your prompt.)

Age statement: Please state that you are over 18. (While our fest is all about friendship, we will allow NC-17 content and therefore need the participants to be of age.)

Email: A working email address you regularly check. (Comments to the prompting post will be screened, so only the mods will see your address, in case you worry. We like to have your addy to stay in touch -- to inform you when one of your prompts has been claimed, for example -- but leaving a prompt doesn't mean that you're also obliged to claim one.)

Pair (group) of friends: If you choose not two friends but a greater group (like, for example, the Hogwarts staff or the Order of the Phoenix), please make sure to point out who you would like to see as the main protagonists.

Prompt: Be as detailed (or not) as you like.

Likes: Elements, eras, scenarios, settings, you enjoy reading about.

Dislikes: Your squicks, things you really don't want to see included in the story.

And here's the prompting form to copy/paste: (Don't worry, we'll post the template again in the actual prompting post.)

Happy prompting! Please feel free to ask any question in the comments, but keep in mind that this is NOT the prompting post! The prompting post, where you can leave your prompts anonymously in screened comments, will go up March 18th!

As the co-mod of the two communities, feel free to promote this on [community profile] harrypotter and [profile] hp_fanfiction!

I'd also sugggest, if you're interested in further promo, checking out [site community profile] dw_community_promo, [community profile] fandom_on_dw, [community profile] daily_snitch and [community profile] fandomcalendar, if you're not already planning on posting with them. :)

Cool! Thank you! I will take you up on your generous offer as soon as the prompting post is up. :)

\o/ I appreciate getting the form early, as I fall both in the category of liking to prepare and the category of being too excited to wait!

I saw the bit about specifying protagonists when it comes to groups, but are prompts that specify only one of a pair of friends acceptable? (ex. "Neville + a Slytherin classmate" or "Moody + another Auror")

Certainly. If you really don't care who the author chooses as protagonists, you can also simply go for, "two Aurors of your choice" or some such.

I flicked through the profile and such but didn't see this. Just to be sure, if none of the prompts grab our attention, can we write to our own without doing a prompt claim?

Stories can only be written for prompts left at the prompting post, but you will be allowed to claim your own prompt. You must only be the first to claim it. :)
